Recipe Marathon # 3rd day - Dal Makkani

Today is the 3rd day of Recipe Marathon by DK todays special is my favourite side dish. Every day different kinds of recipe. U can call it as RAGAMALIKA too.....:)...
Dal makkani is my favourite dish. i used to have this when i go to resturants. why cant i try myself some how got this recipe and tried it out last saturday for dinner. it turned out yummy and this is protein rich also, cos i added rajma to it, really filling side dish. There r many kind of dal makkani preparation...this is my way
1cup Black gram dhal
¼ cup rajma (soaked over nite and pressure cooked)
2 no tomatoes (make puree)
1no onion (chopped finely)
2tsp ginger and garlic paste
1 tbsp butter
2tsp cream
2tsp Chat masala
3tsp red chilli powder
1tsp dhania powder
1tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Boil the dhal with water. Seperately.
Heat little butter in a pan and add ginger and garlic paste and fry onions.Add all spice powders. Add the ½ cooked dhal and add tomatoe puree ,salt. When the mixture boils add the rajma. Atlast add the butter cook in slow flame for sometime.
Add cream on top and serve hot with parathas or chappathi.

Dal makkani looks great. one of my fav. The 1st time i saw it in a cookery program in TV and prepared it at home. Then and there fell in luv with the dish.
